Ecco's Story Booster!

 
又一本Mirra Ginsgurg撰寫、Jose Aruego和Ariane Dewey繪圖的傑作－Mushroom in the Rain。故事描寫小螞蟻在森林裡遇上大雨，急忙跑到磨菇下躲雨，卻來了其他的昆蟲和動物也要一起擠進來躲雨。小小的磨菇，怎麼可能躲那麼多人呢？其實故事說到一半，已經有小朋友知道答案了，還好結局前出現的狐狸，是一個很可愛的小轉折，依然讓大家開開心心的聽完故事。
故事後我們熱熱鬧鬧玩的演了一場戲，因為時間還夠，所以事先準備好的Mushroom Craft就派上用場囉！材料唾手可得，步驟更是簡單，大約3～5分鐘就可以完成，成品非常可愛哩！

Tiger Trouble (Diane Goode)
 
Jack和他的好朋友－老虎Lily住在河邊的公寓裡。他們一起洗澡，一起盪鞦韆，一起和鄰居小朋友們打棒球。直到有一天，公寓被討厭所有貓科動物的Mr. Mud買走，並且勒令老虎L ily隔天立刻搬走！Jack和Lily絞盡腦汁，還是想不出好方法。夜裡，失眠的老虎L ily聽到奇怪的聲響，發現是小偷爬進了Mr. Mud的家，老虎L ily英勇的制住了小偷。Mr. Mud為了感謝老虎L ily，懇求他繼續住在河邊公寓裡。

哇，一轉眼一年又要過了！年紀小的時候，好吃好玩好睡，時間的單位是天，每天都有新鮮事；讀書後，用每一週大大小小的考試與成績記錄生活，那時候的時間單位是緊湊的「週」，；開始工作後，我們用每一個payday標記日子的進度，拿到薪水後，同事間彼此戲謔互問的第一個問題是“When’s the next payday?”；而現在，突然發現時間是一年一年的在消逝，真的好快啊～
好了，傷春悲秋留下回吧，今年是庚寅虎年，來分享一些以老虎為主角的故事吧！

Brian Wildsmith的All Fall Down一如他其他Cat on the Mat系列裡的作品（信誼包裝為動物狂想曲）一樣，簡潔重複但幽默的內容、鮮艷活潑的圖畫，拿來說給初階的孩子聽再適合不過了。這本圖畫故事書，曾經被我拿來當暖身故事，也曾經拿來當作延伸活動，搭配“Ring Around the Rosie”玩circling game，孩子們不分年紀性別，通通都很喜歡。

自從不在第一線教英文之後，總覺得各個節慶離我越來越遠了。十月初開始一直到年底，一向是英文老師們最忙碌的季節，先是裝神弄鬼要糖果的萬聖節，接著溫馨感人的感恩節，最後以熱鬧快樂的聖誕節結尾結束一年。雖然忙，可是熱熱鬧鬧過節，就有札札實實生活的痕跡。
現在當了全職媽媽，面對兩個懵懵懂懂的小男生，過節對他們而言還比不上開開心心過日子哩。還好我還可以說故事，雖然沒辦法像以前一樣「帶狀」經營節慶教學，能夠點綴一下也是開心的。
這個月第二個週日在力行圖書館輪值當志工，雖然離聖誕節還有點遠，但是第四個週日時聖誕節已經過了，到時的志工老師我猜不會講聖誕節相關故事了（註），所以決定挑個有點相關又不會太濃厚的聖誕節主題。在書櫃前巡了半天，欽點了買來還沒公開講過的All
You Need for a Snowman和Snowmen
at Christmas。

“Found a Peanut”這首童謠用的是耳熟能詳的Oh My Darling, Clementine的旋律，加上重複性高的歌詞和可替代的歌詞，使它成為家喻戶曉的Road TripSong。不過它也是一首很另類的童謠，歌詞觸及「死亡」，但其實天馬行空。記得我第一次聽的不只專心，還聽到瞠目結舌，最後莫名奇妙被戳到笑穴，笑趴在地。之後旋律和歌詞在腦袋裡飄了好久，有機會就喜歡哼哼這首歌。
這首歌不同版本有些微差異，比較普及的歌詞版本如下：
